Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It’s polluter Manston!

River Oak Strategic Partnership (RSP) has applied to use Manston airport for freight flights, using a flight pattern that runs the coastal route over Herne Bay, Whitstable and the nearby inland villages (Herne, Tyler Hill, Blean, Chestfield etc).

The thousands of freight journeys sought by RSP planes come with a flight frequency that would extend use into the nighttime and is a most unwelcome and noisy addition to the tranquillity of our aerial enjoyment and to the peace and well-being of residents.

Moreover older and more polluting freight planes will also increase the fuel particles in the air – with the risk of breathing and lung related health issues being made worse for those residing below.

The RSP application is being heard on the 10th July 2020.
