We need your help
The government has decided that it will proceed with the City Council and Borough Council elections in May rather than delay until late summer or the autumn as requested by the majority of local councils throughout the country.
The Conservatives have also lobbied for, and succeeded, in increasing the amount that can be spent on the election campaign which gives an advantage to those parties, such as themselves, with an extensive donor base.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic campaigning will be very different with emphasis put on telephone canvassing, postal delivery and social networking. We are well prepared for this but it comes with an increased and substantial cost and we do need your help.
I am therefore making a direct appeal to you because we still need to raise a further £2,000 to pay for a positive campaign to achieve our potential in both the City and County Council elections.
If every member gave £20 we would reach our target. Can you spare £20 to enable us to conduct a positive campaign?
