We are campaigning to reduce anti-social behaviour in the town centres. Canterbury has been described by historian Dr Michael Paraskos as a Jekyll and Hyde city which turns from a sophisticated and welcoming city during the day to sleazy and intimidating at night, blighted by drunken revellers and anti-social behaviour.

Far more people are now living in our city and town centres, and the council’s recent resident survey which was carried out before the COVID-19 pandemic struck identified anti-social behaviour as being one of the main issues.

The Lib Dems are pressing for the police and the council to take more enforcement action at night when the pubs and clubs reopen after the pandemic is over to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.
